John,
Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend
Update.
Happy Passover and a Blessed
Easter. Enjoy this time to celebrate with your families and loved
ones.
This week, I joined “The Evening Edit” on
Fox Business to discuss inflation and OPEC’s decision to cut
oil production. The Biden Administration is responsible for the
inflation we're experiencing and rising energy costs. The actions from
this White House are too little, too late. It’s time to unleash
American energy production. Click

One of the ways to get our domestic
economy back on track is to re-shore and help keep manufacturing in
the United States, particularly in Pennsylvania. Good-paying
manufacturing jobs are essential to industries in the 9th
District, which is why I recently introduced the USA Batteries Act.
This bill will protect American jobs by eliminating a tax that gives
foreign manufacturers an unfair advantage. Click
here to learn more.
In addition to the USA Batteries Act, I
recently introduced two bills aimed at expanding air travel in middle
America, while simultaneously reducing congestion at major airports.
It's my hope these bills will help restore commercial flights at
regional airports like the Williamsport Regional Airport.
This week, I had the opportunity to join
the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce for their Legislative
Breakfast. I was joined by State Senator Lisa Baker, State
Representative Tina Pickett, and members of the State and Wyoming
County chambers. In Washington, I’ll continue to fight for policies in
Congress that help our business community thrive and oppose burdensome
regulations and taxes that hinder their success.
An essential component of having a
healthy economy is having a well-trained workforce. This week, I
traveled to two separate learning institutions that are working to
prepare our students for the jobs of today and tomorrow. First, I
visited the Blue Mountain School District. They have been regularly
bringing together local business and education leaders to discuss how
curriculum can be tailored to ensure we are best-preparing students to
enter the workforce.
I also visited the Lackawanna College
Tunkhannock Center for a roundtable discussion with Lackawanna College
President Dr. Jill Murray. Lackawanna College is about taking care of
business today with education, increasing skill development and the
understanding of natural resources and the opportunities that come
with them.
We look forward to catching up with you next week. God Bless, and
see you soon,
Dan
