Learn more about what my office has been up to this week Dear john, This week, I was pleased to welcome officials from the Biden-Harris Administration to our district as they participated in the Investing in America tour. It was very important to me that I invited these representatives from the administration so they can see our community first-hand and understand the impacts of federal investments on the people I serve right here at home. Here are some highlights from the week: On Monday, I started the week with my friend and former House colleague, Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge, as we participated in a tour and community roundtable at Good Samaritan Health Center. We learned about how a $2.4 million HUD community development grant helped acquire the building and complete renovations. Good Sam is the largest non-profit healthcare provider in Gwinnett County, and I was honored to learn more about the essential services they provide to those who may not have access to affordable care. Later that afternoon, I convened a roundtable with Gwinnett County elected officials to discuss HUD's partnership with local governments to invest in America, develop communities, and increase the availability of affordable housing. Fudge host local Gwinnett elected officials for a roundtable on affordable housing On Tuesday, I was pleased to welcome U.S. Small Business Administrator Isabella Guzman to Norcross as we convened the leadership of local chambers of commerce to discuss challenges small businesses are facing and share feedback and success stories with Administrator Guzman. Those who served our nation deserve the highest quality care possible, and I was proud to spend some time with those who are working hard every day to give back to those who gave so much to America.
