This is bad news: A Trump-appointed judge just ruled to block the FDA's approval of mifepristone, attempting to eliminate access to it nationwide. Mifepristone is incredibly safe and effective and is used in medication abortion—the most common method for abortion care throughout the country. Anti-choice extremists purposefully picked this judge to hear this case—and his decision is meant to effectively ban medication abortion as we know it.

But the fight is far from over. The federal government can appeal this ruling, and we'll be mobilizing our members each step of the way. This case could end up at the Supreme Court, so we need to be prepared to fight back now.
