We are outraged, John.
The Tennessee House just voted to expel TWO gun safety lawmakers for standing with us last week: state Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson. This is a direct attack on our democracy. We’re watching TN House Republicans dismantle it in real time and specifically target representatives of color. But in the words of Justin Jones, “You can expel me but you cannot expel this movement!”
After 10+ hours on Capitol grounds, March For Our Lives activists staged a die-in at the rotunda where dozens of students lay on the ground for 14 minutes — the length of time the shooter at The Covenant School was active during the mass killing spree.

March For Our Lives activists, students, and allies packed the State Capitol today to show our leaders that we are watching them and will hold them accountable. Instead of passing gun safety bills like an assault weapons ban or safe storage laws, Republican lawmakers are too busy banning drag queens and silencing their colleagues and anyone who supports our movement to end gun violence.
During the protest, we made sure our voices were heard chanting, “You ban books, you ban drag, kids are still in body bags.”
We’re saying it loud and clear: our movement supports the #TennesseeThree. We will continue to chant and organize for our lives. And we will NOT let up in the fight until ALL Americans are safe from gun violence.
In solidarity,
Brynn Jones + Ezri Tyler
