Dear John,

When an idea is shared it grows stronger; that’s true of enlightened ideas as much as it’s true of hateful ones.

This is the year to exponentially increase the power of love by turning it into a social and political force. Martin Luther King Jr. described Gandhi as the first person to take love beyond the personal realm and turn it into a broad scale social force for good. If love can heal our individual relationships, according to Gandhi, then it can heal our economic and political relationships as well.

The reason the agenda of our presidential campaign was important is because of the love it expressed: love for children, love for peace, love between races, love for the earth etc. Love is the greatest power in the world, and it is the solution to every crisis.

Dr. King said “There is a power within us that is greater than the power of bullets.” It’s time for us to find that power, and to use it. I’m currently reading a book called A Warning, written by an anonymous Trump administration official. We have a very serious problem on our hands and collective anger is not going to be powerful enough to solve it. Only our collective love can do that.

Join me on February 15, live in Pasadena, California or on livestream, to begin the process—actually, the campaign began it but now we will continue it—of creating a contemporary politics of love. Together we will revitalize our social immune system and help prepare the way for better times.

By joining our hearts and minds, learning together and working together, we will help transform ourselves, our country, and our world.

I look forward to being with you.

Marianne
