Kia ora John,



I’ve just given my final speech to Parliament. My time as an MP is almost up, but before I go I wanted to reach out to you, John, one last time. 



The aroha I've received from this Labour community is something I'll never forget. I can’t tell you how much your support and encouragement helped me when I was in the Beehive. And I’ve loved reading all your kind messages of support since I stepped down, too. Thank you.



While I won’t be in Parliament any more, you can be sure I’ll still be cheering on Chippy and the Labour team. I hope you will be, too.



The beautiful thing about this movement is that it’s made up of thousands of people from all different backgrounds, doing what we can to make New Zealand a better place for everyone.



I started my Labour journey 24 years ago as a volunteer. Since then I've been a staffer, an MP, a PM - and now I’ll take on a different role. But I'll always be Labour.  



So today I’m pledging to continue to support this movement, that means so much to me, by making a contribution.
