After last week’s end-of-quarter deadline, we were crunching the numbers in ActBlue, and we have some disappointing news to share: So far this year, we’ve only raised a fraction of the amount we had by this time in 2021.

In Q1 2021 — the last time we did candidate recruitment — we had raised $523,744.38. In Q1 of 2023, we raised less than $270K.

We're way behind where we were in 2021, and we need to pick things up if we want to elect more progressives to Congress in 2024 and expand the Squad. John, will you chip in $3 now so we can stay in this fight for the long run?

Our candidate recruitment is in full swing, meaning we're pouring over thousands of submissions and talking to potential candidates across the country to ensure we back the best possible leaders in the 2024 elections.

The candidates we recruit now, like in past years, will become progressive champions who challenge the political establishment and fight alongside leaders like AOC, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, and Summer Lee — but only if we have the resources to support them.

We can’t continue to fall short of our fundraising goals. The success of our 2024 Candidate Recruitment is on the line and if we fall even further behind, we’re going to need to take a look at budget cuts for the rest of the year.
