Protecting Cherished Freedoms for the Next Generation NEW | Launch of the Preserving Democracy Project WILL formally launched its newest project, the Preserving Democracy Project (PDP). WILL's newest initiative will protect the framework of America’s system of government-established by our nation’s founding fathers in the Constitution and Bill of Rights- for the next generation. 🇺🇸 Watch Here 🗯 WILL President and General Counsel, Rick Esenberg, stated, “Freedom is fragile and simply does not exist on its own accord. America’s founders envisioned a system of divided government, which was fundamental to defending liberty and the rule of law. WILL’s new Preserving Democracy Project is the vanguard in the ongoing struggle to preserve that system of governance.” 🗯 WILL Deputy Counsel, Lucas Vebber stated, “To preserve our democracy and ensure America’s system of government lives on for the next generation, WILL is fighting to enforce structural limitations on government power, take bureaucratic overreach head on, and defend the rights and freedoms of all Americans citizens. No matter where that fight may go—from our nation’s capital to state capitals, and from local school boards to your county office—we will protect our democracy.” Learn More WEBINAR | The Preserving Democracy Project On Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM, WILL Deputy Council, Lucas Vebber, will be hosting a free, informative webinar. The webinar will focus on the cases and efforts that WILL has brought forth to enforce structural limitations on government power and hold bureaucrats to the rule of law at all levels from city halls to Washington, D.C., including Britto v. ATF, Braun v. Walsh, Florek v. Neenah, and more. Register Here ALERT | First Amendment Rights Trampled by Wisconsin School Board Today, in support of the First Amendment rights of citizens who speak up at school board meetings, WILL rebuked the West Allis-West Milwaukee (WAWM) School Board for blatantly violating a citizen’s freedom of speech. 🗯 WILL Deputy Counsel, Dan Lennington, stated, “The First Amendment in the U.S. Constitution guarantees the freedom of speech—period. WILL is speaking out and advising all school boards to embrace and protect the First Amendment, rather than shutting down speech it finds uncomfortable.” ℹ️ Read our letter and watch this clip from WAWM School Board Public Forum. Read More NEW | Policy report shows local gov. strangling home-based businesses with red tape, hurting economic growth, and infringing on freedom   WILL released its latest policy report, “Wisconsin: A Broken Home for Home-based Businesses.” The report highlights the bureaucratic nightmare of red tape facing home-based businesses, and lays out specific solutions to ensure Wisconsin is truly open for business. 🏙 🗯 WILL Writer and Research Analyst, Cori Petersen, says: “69% of businesses began in someone’s home, including some of today’s largest, most profitable companies like Apple, Amazon, and Google. Cities love to say that they are open to business, but if they have overly restrictive regulations that prevent our smallest of businesses from flourishing, then it’s time for a change.” 🎙 For more info, read this article from The Wisconsin Daily Star and listen to Cori's interview with Vicki McKenna. Yet in far too many cases, our schools are failing to provide this strong foundation.” WILL Research Director, Will Flanders, PhD, wrote in the Wisconsin State Journal about how retention, paired with the science of reading teaching, equals better academic performance outcomes. ℹ️ WILL recently published a study on this topic, click here for more information.
