Join us TOMORROW for our North Texas Service Academies Forum   Irving, TX – Last weekend, I met with my Youth Advisory Council and listened to their thoughtful legislative proposals. North Texas is home to some of the brightest young minds, and I appreciated hearing their perspectives. After returning to D.C. on Monday, I spoke with the National Association of Home Care and Hospice about my work to address hospice program integrity concerns, and my commitment to ensuring high-quality end-of-life care. I was grateful to meet Summer Napier, who owns a local home health company that provides care to North Texans. The Biden Administration continues to wage its war against Main Street. During a Small Business subcommittee hearing on Tuesday morning, I continued my oversight of the Biden Administration’s anti-growth regulations. My colleagues and I pressed for answers on the CFPB’s harmful new data collection rule, which will lead to higher costs for our small businesses. Later in the day, I demanded answers from HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra on hospice-related issues. You can read more about our exchange here and watch it here. On Wednesday, I met with local leaders from the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association to discuss elementary education. I appreciated hearing their assessment of the challenges and opportunities facing our educators and updating them on my work in Congress. I enjoyed surprising Wilson Elementary School with a morning announcement video, which you can watch here. My top priorities include expanding American energy production and lowering costs for working families. I was pleased to vote for H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, on Thursday, which passed the House with bipartisan support. The package includes my legislation which requires the Biden Administration to publish a 5-year offshore oil and gas plan, allowing American companies to get the investment and certainty they need for more production. Texas-24 Hometown Hero Our Texas-24 Hometown Hero of the week is Lisa Goodwin, who always goes the extra mile to help North Texans. I want to thank Lisa for her thoughtfulness and dedication. Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for our community?
