Today is a big day for Kentucky’s future. I have just signed into law two of the biggest legislative priorities of my first term: legalizing medical cannabis and sports betting. Both of these laws are policies that Kentuckians have supported for years and years, and thanks to the hard work of my administration, we have delivered results for our Commonwealth.

I'm proud of the work my administration has done in the last three years to create lasting change for millions of Kentuckians. We've created tens of thousands of good-paying jobs, made historic investments to support Kentucky’s economy, and expanded affordable healthcare access. And now, people who deserve relief will have legal access to medical cannabis, and with the legalization of sports betting we will stop seeing millions of dollars in revenue leave the borders of our state each year. This is real progress for our state and our people.

But we've still got plenty of work to do. Tonight at midnight is the first official fundraising deadline of 2023. That means all the candidates' fundraising numbers will be reported and made available to the public soon. My 12 Republican opponents will be looking closely to try to spot any vulnerabilities, so we need to ensure we can show them the strength of this grassroots team.
