Election Day is less than a week away. If you haven’t voted yet, it’s time to make sure you have a plan to vote. Here are several resources you might find helpful: [[link removed]]

Hi John, it’s time to talk about Dan Kelly

While we prefer to imagine the possibilities of a Supreme Court with a new fair-minded majority, it’s also necessary to understand the opposition to that vision.

Bottom line: Dan Kelly is a real threat to Wisconsin’s democracy and environment.

Dan Kelly has never been elected. Kelly was a Walker appointee with little relevant experience. He already lost one election to be seated on the court, and he’s been deemed unqualified by the Milwaukee Bar Association: [[link removed]].

But that’s the least of it. From his questionable law degree [[link removed]] to his work with right wing extremists who include racist, anti-semitic and anti-LBGTQ+ radicals [[link removed]], Dan Kelly is a corporate shill for the extremist right. He takes his orders from billionaire donors and doesn’t have any moral objection to partnering with the most extreme elements of today’s politics. He’s even connected to the attempt to overturn the presidential election: [[link removed]]

The depths to which the state GOP has fallen is shocking, even in this political environment. From bald-faced lies [[link removed]] to re-victimizing rape survivors [[link removed]], the GOP has shown it knows no bottom in its desperate attempts to hold onto power through its stranglehold on the court and its legislative gerrymander.

We say this a lot here in Wisconsin, and we mean it. What happens in this election will be consequential for our state for a generation.

Your urgent gift today allows us to do everything in our power to turn out conservation voters to elect pro-conservation leaders like Judge Janet Protasiewicz up and down the ballot on April 4: [[link removed]]

This is our moment. Kelly’s candidacy is the culmination of the Wisconsin GOP’s dangerous embrace of the most extreme elements of its base, and if he were to win, it would threaten Wisconsin’s democracy for what could be a generation. That’s not hyperbole.

Electing Judge Janet Protaseiwicz will begin to undo the decade-long grip the anti-conservation elements in the state have maintained using the country’s worst gerrymandered legislative districts and on the state Supreme Court.

Nothing makes that more clear than the racist, desperate fervor you’re seeing from the extremist right. Dan Kelly represents what is worst about today’s political stratification and polarization. Rather than being serious about the issues Wisconsinites actually care about, it’s nothing but culture wars 24/7. Because so many of the party’s elected officials have no accountability to their constituents, they’ve never had to actually work for the people. Instead they're aligning with nonsensical, unpopular, and dangerous politicking that only hurts Wisconsin. With Judge Janet Protasiewicz on the Supreme Court, we can fight back.

The threat Dan Kelly poses, and the hope that Judge Janet represents, could not be more starkly contrasted. Vote Judge Janet on April 4, and take a little time to forward this email or just talk to your friends about why it is important for them to vote on April 4, too.

And please support our efforts to turn out conservation voters in the home stretch to elect leaders like Judge Janet with an urgent contribution today: [[link removed]]

This is our moment, conservation voters. Next week we have the opportunity to grow the momentum we’ve been building together, and finally reclaim Wisconsin for all.
