Friends,
When my team told me we’d set a fundraising goal of $70,000 by Friday’s FEC deadline, my first question was: Why?
Now, don’t get me wrong. After nearly 30 years of experience running for office, I know very well that winning campaigns costs money and that having grassroots support behind you can make the difference between a huge win and a devastating loss. But I spend as much of my time as possible working with my colleagues in the Senate and talking to voters around the Commonwealth -- not staring at our budget spreadsheets, as my team does -- so I wanted to know a little more about why we needed this $70,000, and why we needed it right now.
Here’s what I learned:
- My re-election campaign team has worked up a budget of exactly what we need to spend throughout the campaign to secure a victory.
- That budget includes everything from TV and digital advertising to reach voters and a multilingual GOTV plan, to field offices around the Commonwealth and fair pay and health insurance benefits for our team.
- If we want to be able to execute everything in that budget -- and with what’s at stake in the 2024 elections, we really can’t afford not to -- we need to fundraise incrementally.
These goals and deadlines are very purposeful, and whether we reach them or fall short will have a tangible impact on what we can accomplish together.
So right now, I'm asking you: Will you donate any amount towards our $70,000 grassroots fundraising goal before tomorrow night’s FEC deadline?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for anything you’re able to give. I appreciate your support and know we couldn’t do this without you on the team.
