Congressman Al Green Delivers Keynote Address at the American Bar Association Economic Justice Summit held at Georgetown University Law Center on his Conscience Agenda Legislative Priorities

(Houston, TX) — On Thursday, March 30, 2023, Congressman Al Green will deliver the keynote remarks at the American Bar Association (ABA) Civil Rights and Social Justice Section’s Economic Justice Summit. He will speak on his Conscience Agenda legislative priorities, which includes five pieces of legislation dedicated to aiding in the elimination of invidious discrimination in the United States. The bills would: establish a Slavery Remembrance Day, award a Congressional Gold Medal to the American enslaved, require disclosure of financial companies’ historical connections to slavery, remove the name of Richard Russell from the Russell Senate Office Building, and create a Cabinet-level Department of Reconciliation to develop a national strategy of eliminating all forms of invidious discrimination.

The ABA Economic Justice Summit is being held at Georgetown University Law Center and streamed online, and registration is available to the public. Congressman Green’s remarks are scheduled to begin at 9:00 A.M. ET. A recording of his remarks will be available thereafter.
