Protect our waters and our health
Join us for Conservation Lobby Day on April 25 [[link removed]]

Hi John,

A few weeks ago, I sat down with Cheryl Nenn of Milwaukee Riverkeeper, an organization we partner with in our work to protect clean water. We had a deep conservation about the unique challenges of PFAS contamination in our water [[link removed]].

Cheryl has spent her life protecting the water. “I grew up along the Great Lakes, so I guess it's always been in my DNA to advocate for them,” she said.

Together, we’re working to ensure everyone has access to Wisconsin’s natural environments and clean drinking water. But forever chemicals, known as PFAS, have seeped into Wisconsin’s waterways around the state which then contaminate our drinking water and fish.

There’s no question that even a small amount of PFAS consumption can be detrimental to our health, yet communities across Wisconsin are dealing with this problem. Just this week, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) found more communities that have PFAS contamination [[link removed]].

We have to speak up and tell our legislators to take action. Join us on Tuesday, April 25 for Conservation Lobby Day [[link removed]] and help us advocate for $106 million in the state budget to address our state’s PFAS contamination.

Just like you and me, Cheryl Nenn is a conservation voter, an advocate for our environment, and understands the power we can have when we talk to our elected officials. She explained that the success we’ve had protecting our waters is because of advocacy by community members.

We can’t stop now. Our health and waters depend on us taking action.
We are asking the legislature to Support Gov. Evers’ $106 million plan that will provide needed support for communities facing PFAS contamination, new staff for testing and remediation, and expanded educational outreach to impacted communities.

So join me for Conservation Lobby Day and help move our state forward [[link removed]].

Thank you for being a water protector,
